Ethical Face Recognition Technology

High throughput venue entrance for concerts, sporting events, and more. Privacy first, always.

The Blink Identity system was designed from the very beginning to give people a way to use their identity to get into physical spaces while protecting their privacy. Our users always have complete transparency and control over their data. If you have enrolled in our system and have any questions about your personal data, please reach out to us at privacy@blinkidentity.com.

How We Protect Your Privacy

We don’t use photos for matching.

When you sign up, you send us a photograph of your face. We convert that photograph into a series of numbers called a template. A template is kind of like a bar code of your face. The important thing is that the template, or “face bar code,” can never be converted back into a photograph.

Your data never leaves our system and if someone hacks our system and steals our data, all they get is a set of encrypted numbers that can never be used to identify you.

We collect minimum data.

We collect the minimum amount of data for the task. It’s usually just your name, email address and your photograph. Sometimes it’s just the photograph. We are an identification service – we don’t make money selling data so there is no reason to collect more. Plus, data we don’t have is data we don’t have to protect.

We don’t do national databases.

We don’t connect to national databases. Your data is used for one purpose: access to what you signed up for — and we do not share your data with anyone.

Users control their data.

Our users have complete visibility and control over their data. It’s your information, so you can see and control it at any time. For more information, email privacy@blinkidentity.com.

We protect your data.

We follow best practices to protect your data. All communication to and from our servers is performed over encrypted channels (using TLS 1.2+), and all stored data is encrypted at rest using industry approved encryption standards (AES-256).
